A simple,rapid and sensitive method based on modified multiwalled carbon nanotube for preconcentration and determination of lead ions in aqueous media in natural pHs

In this study, multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) was modified by the pyridine group using a silane agent and characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), thermal analysis (TG/DTA), and elemental analysis (CHN) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The application of this sorbent was investigated in determination of lead ions in aqueous samples, using flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). Through this study, different parameters such as pH and sample flow rate on adsorption process and eluent concentration, volume and flow rate were optimized. The limit of detection (LOD), the relative standard deviation and the recovery of the method were 2 ng mL^?1, 1.3% and 99.7%, respectively. Two standard reference materials (NIST 1571 and NIST 1572) were used to verify accuracy of this method. Finally, the sorbent was successfully applied for extraction and determination of low levels of Pb(II) ions in aqueous samples.     

Certain fractional calculus and integral transform results of incomplete ℵ-functions with applications

In this paper, we study certain interesting and useful properties of incomplete $\aleph$-functions. The incomplete $\aleph$-function is an extension of the $\aleph$-function. We find several useful classical integral transforms of these functions. Further, we examine the fractional calculus with the incomplete $\aleph$-functions and point out several special cases. Finally, we give the applications of incomplete $\aleph$-functions in detecting glucose supply in human blood.     

Biomolecular Release Stimulated by Electrochemical Signals at a Very Small Potential Applied

DNA release electrochemically stimulated by applying ?10 mV on the modified electrode was studied. The release process was based on the local (interfacial) pH change produced upon H₂O₂ reduction electrocatalyzed by the immobilized microperoxidase‐11. SiO₂ nanoparticles attached to the electrode surface and functionalized with trigonelline and boronic acid species changed their electrical charge from positive to negative upon the interfacial pH change, thus allowing electrostatic adsorption of negatively charged DNA on the positive interface and then its repulsion/release from the negative interface. The loaded/released DNA molecules were labeled with a fluorescent dye to allow easy detection of the released DNA molecules. The important feature of the developed system is the controlled DNA release upon applying very small electrical potential on the modified electrode.
